I was just on the K&N site looking up mine. The v-6 4.2l is listed on the bottom of the application chart for 2000 Ford Pick-ups. It shows K&N Part #E-0945 for your application.
I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between the part numbers I've found for my application: They are 57-2514-1 and 57-2514-2. Gen I and Gen II perhaps?

Hey, thanks. I went to the K&N site and looked at the application list over and over for all Fords. Unless I am missing something, there isn't a kit for the V6. I did see the E-0945 part, but always for V8's and V10's. I sent an email to K&N, so I will wait and see.

Melissa, Silly me. I just went back and looked and the part number I listed above was for the filter only... Not the FIPK. Sorry and hope they get back to you with an application for your truck.
I ordered my K&N FIPK and Gibson cat-back today. They'll be in tomorrow and installed this weekend.

Generation II Kit
Do they not make the FIPK or the Generation II kit (K&N) for a 4.2L V6. I was looking through my Ford catalog and the only part numbers I saw referenced V8's.
