Thumbs up Throttle Body Spacers

If any of you are looking to increase your MPG for cheap, which I'm sure many of you are, I would recomend Poweraid's throttle body spacer. It separates the throttle body from the air intake by about an inch, with a spiral cut out of the spacer to form a helix-bore air spin, increasing the speed at which the air enters the throttle body. It installs with simple tools in about 25 minutes, costs around $75, with an increase of 2-3 MPG's.

Cool

HI!... HOSRACN : We all know about the POWERAID "junk" SPACER around here. 90% of people on this board bought it when it 1ST came out and many of us now have a $100 paperweight. I lost low-end torque, lost fuel milage and made my truck go 3 tenths slower in the 1/4 mile with the POWERAID spacer. Don't waste your money. If you want a cheap mod that works then buy a FIPG or ASP power pulleys. Someone here on this board even ran the PA spacer on a dyno and lost h.p. It may work on CHEVY's but it don't work on FORDS. In my honest opinion.

Question

That's kind of strange, A throttle body spacer just by definition should gain you torque, shouldn't it?

I am no engineer or anything but isn't that how they used to tune the old race engines for different tracks? Carb spacer and velocity stack length determined torque, HP and RPM range on those engines.

Don't know about milage increases but it should help out in low end torque.

By definition yes it should increase torque but, by trial and mishaps is the best paper weight I ever bought. Thats how it worked for me.
