3.73 to 4.10 gears?

I have been looking into swapping my stock 3.73 gears out for some 4.10 gears before i decide to upgrade my stock tires (275/55/20 Pirelli's) to 305/55/20 Cooper Zeon LTZs. First off, does this sound like a good idea, opinions?
Secondly, I found a guy at the local truck shop that installs gears on the side (the shop does not install gears) He said he charges $350 an axle, so thats $700 for my fx4, is this a good price? That also means i would need to bring two sets of gears and install kits to him, where is the best place to find these for a good price? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I'm not sure if it's really worth it? I have the same setup as you do. If you were going to get larger tires than 33's I'd say go for gears, but with 33's you shouldn't notice to much of a loss. Put your $$$ into some other mods.

the 4.10's might get you better mileage and you'll notice a difference in power

I went from 3.55's to 4.10s and do get better city mpg. highway mpg stayed the same though.

if you have no plans to ever get bigger tires then 33's then i would regear. your milage will be better, the truck will be "peppier" and you will be able to tow better. if you think you might go with bigger tires in the future, i would wait to regear untill then

Where can you buy gears at? And actually, where do you find out what gears you have in now? If it helps I drive an 02 Expedition w/5.4. Would 4.10s be worth the cost and trouble to put them in?

Sorry to jack the thread.
