They make excellent paper weights, but do absolutely nothing for performance. Don't waste your money on it unless you're current paper weight is beginning to show signs of wear and tear.

I got one and haven't noticed hardly anything but a heck of whistle when combined with a K&N system, sounds like a turbo almost. I heard it increases only a small amount of torque

They do nothing for a fuel injected engine. A slight benefit for carbed engines.

The only practical thing I've seen them used for is nitrous injection. (Plumb the spacer for nitrous jets)

You know, I wish I had read this post before I got that expensive paper weight. It made my Roush Exhaust (Legal) sound like stock. They used to have a sweet rumble to them,. Now I barely know that they are on the truck. Dammit...what a waste of money. I am going to take it off in a couple of weeks. Does anyone know why the TBS tames the exhaust?

Stay away!

The theory behind the throttlebody spacer is that it helps in atomizing the air for better efficiency and performance. However on a fuel injected vehicle the air and fuel do not actually mix until it is already in the cylinder.

Like stated above a vehicle with a carb would benefit more as the mixture occurs before the cylinders. Even the early fuel injections systems where it was sprayed before the cylinders may benefit slightly.

It's amazing how items like this are promoted and people fall for it. I almost did myself months back.

If you have kids, have your child give it to their science teacher as a gift... brownie points

So, what if I skip the spacer and just go with a better throttle body? Will that help me with having better response when I tap the gas peddle? If so, what kind do I go with?

Dont get one bro! I got one and put in on with my K&N intake and it made it sound like some horrible squeaky vato mobile. I returned it the same day. Save the money and put it towards a Gryphon!!
