Bypass module

Yes that is true. It's unfortunate, but true. I cannot suggest another add on bypass module to you, but Viper should have one available. Obviously make sure that it the one for the Ford units. Basically the installation requires placing a coded key within the box (module) which is then plugged into the Module Control Box. Some individuals have suggested that this could be a security problem since it leaves a key within the car; which could be found and used to steal the car.
If you think this could be a problem to you you could "muff-up" the key's edges making it useless as a starting tool. Some have ground down the key edges, and some have "hacked" off the key's tong leaving the bobble chip to be placed within the IFB.
Come to think of it my bypass key is still active, but it taped far out of the way of prying hands. I have the "Bull-Dog" RS-602 system.

the bypass that i have only required that you have 2 keys to program it, but i didnt have to leave one in it. this link will tell you which ones require a key. http://www.xpresskit.com/Result.aspx...F150&year=2003 these are made by directed electronics, which is the same people that make viper, clifford, python, and several other alarms. i believe that mine is the xk04 but i really cant remember.
