CB Antenna mount

After scratching my head for a few months, this is what I came up with last summer. Works good for me. See my album for the whole story.

Looks good! I thought about mounting my antenna somewhere up front but I wanted to use a fiberglass whip antenna so I needed a stronger mount. I mounted mine in the back inside the bed. I'm going to remount it with a new bracket. It's currently too low and is being interfered with by the ground plane.

I intended to use a fibreglass whip too. The stainless mount is strong enough to support one but I would have chosen a skinny and shorter one. Had my eye on a 3 ft. Wilson, but the guy at the CB shop said this would work fine.
I was doubtful about the performance but liked the look, so for $15 I decided to give it a try.
SWR is excellent and on the road, everyone says it sounds good and the range is adequate so I'll keep it on there.
