Yep just bought my 1999 about a month ago and did not notice a crack but looked the other day and there is a small one on drivers door none on passager side yet!!!!

question-how do these things start? i mean i dont see them on other vehicles

i have a 99 4wd f-150 xtended cab and i also have 2003 2wd xtended cab the 2003 has no cracks and i pray it stays that way my 99 has about a inch long crack on the drivers door... the should be a problem ford should fix.

dont flame on me but i didnt read the whole forum but does anyone have a picture of these cracks.. i have cracks on my 99 but i figured it was from abuse from previous owner... ive had the truck since september! sorry for being dumb!

2000 xlt xcab 55000 no cracks or rust

and 4.2 there is a link on page 1 to where the cracks are.

I have always suspected window operation as the culprit.
I am always alone in my truck and the drivers window is operated 90% more than the passenger window. Hence the drivers door has the crack and the passengerside does not.

I quoted one of the few 2000 models to still report, "no cracks" this late in the game.

Notice it's an XL which means no power windows and it's a Florida truck so the AC is in operation nearly 365 days.

1997 both doors bubbles were the cracks should be
other 1997 1/2 long each door

1998 door crack both sides on the corners. about 1/4 to 1/2 long.

whats all of our listings going to do? anyone ever take corrective action in this?

Referring to the service bulletin below, it appears that one of the only fixes is to weld a piece of metal onto the door sheet metal on the inside.

I have a '99 F-150 Super Cab, 2WD, 5.4L, and there is a crack about 3/8" long on the drivers side door
