Question Hood does not open

My father has a 2002 Ford F150 and the hood does not open when pulling the hood release. Is there any way to get it to open? I do not want to put too much pressure on the release cable in case it snaps.

The hood doesn't even pop up so you can pull the lever on top of the grill?

How cold is it where you are? It is rare, but those cables freeze up from time to time. Spray the hell out of the latach with WD-40, wait a few minutes and try again. My '99 did the same thing twice.

This is common for latches that have not been greased in a while

This is a two man job now

One guy pulls on the inside latch, the second guy pushes down then up on the outside hood while the inside latch is being pulled.

Once the hood is open, grease the latch under the hood. I usually use that aerosol grease in a can.

Good luck
