Question Grille Paint Job

I've been searching the forums for a while but can't find any good info for what I need. The grille on my 97 XL has faded pretty bad and needs to be replaced or painted. Due to a lack of funds, I am considering the painting option first. The grille used to be flat black, and it would be great to have it looking new again. I really don't want to jack up my truck, so information on proper painting techniques and supplies would be appreciated. Also if removal is necessary what are the steps in doing so. Anything will help, thanks guys.

This one is probably a bit better suited for Other Body...

With that in mind, I'll migrate it down to that forum for you. I think you'll find a few more folks with 'painting' backgrounds that lurk there.

All you would have to do is sand the grill with at least 220 then 360 and paint with Krylon Fusion flat black. EASY!

You can try this as well:
