Big pic of krylon sprayed bed rails......
2004 FUGLY FADED, WHITE, CRACKED, DAMAGED BED RAILS...used all kinds of "black" stuff, never lasted.
Taped off the bed rail and the 2 metal trim rails on my "Roll-N-Lock" bed cover....took about 20 minutes, VERY easy taping off due to gaps around the trim.
Sprayed KRYLON BLACK Semi-Gloss 3 times within one hour inside a garage........dried very fast in the FLORIDA SUN (hence, SUNSHINE STATE!......hehehehe...that ones for all you "Yankee" boys!) and came out looking new.
Only issue I had was a very small over-spray on the cab by the rear window, not paying attention, but completely wiped off because of the paint having 3 coats of ZAINO.....
(That's a different chapter)
I don't have a clue how long this stuff lasts, but this truck sits outdoors in the sun and tropical storms for months at a time in SOUTH FLORIDA while I'm in PANAMA.
But came out PERFECT! Let me know what ya'll think.....
NOTE: The imperfection on the rail is a nick, this is a "working" truck.

Good stuff! Great job!
I've used a lot of that same Krylon paint over the years and have always had pretty good results with it. I've used it on mirror housings, grilles, rear trim, wheels, plastics, metals, etc.
Back in the mid '70s a buddy's 1970 Cuda 440 six pack which has the pebble grained grey insert across the rear around the tail lights was faded and so we masked it off, cleaned it, and I applied several coats of the then new to us Krylon Semi Gloss Black. Afterwards for a couple years, car sat outside, was used as a car. Since later '70s it spends it's life in a garage except when driven.
He still has it, the factory applied Dark Ivy Green Metalic looks good still.
The Krylon is still there as well, still looking good too.
I wonder how long you've had the rollup bed cover? Is it one with the bows that rollup in the cover? Do you find it very easy to use? I have a flareside as well, notice covers are limited.

Thanks, tbear!
I've had the Roll-n-Lock for about 4 years now.
It doesn't fold up, it "slides" forward into a low-profile metal box so the box is all that shows which is about 6" wide across the width of the bed.
It is not waterproof, but does have a lock. As you said, the FLARESIDES are left out of some things, but this cover is made for the Flareside.
I cannot recommend this due to the way it mounts to the inner sides of the bed....the problem being the "shape" of the bed-sides, as you know, are actually "bowed" in a slight curve outward at the center of the rail.
But it serves it's purpose.
