03 to 04 f150 front door swap

I have to change the doors on my 2003 f150, the shop was wondering if they could put on 2004 f150 doors, the newer style. I have a super crew and they want to change just the front doors. Does anyone know if that will work?

Thanks in advance,

Gary.

I'm pretty sure they're different shapes and it probably won't fit considering they're different bodystyles. Unless your referring to the 04 heritage edition f150 which is the same as the 97-03 bodystyle in which case you'll be fine.

Sounds like you need a new shop. Do they not know its a different body style? No offense but I wouldn't let them do work for me if they seriously asked that question. Would you try to put 2007 Mustang doors on a 1998 Mustang? No its obvious they wouldn't fit.

I wonder if they are asking permission to put Heritage Doors on. Does anyone happen to know the physical differences between the 03, and 04 heritage doors? Does one have door mouldings, and the other doesn't. Do they have keypad entry in different locations on the 04? These "slight differences" can be major issues to some owners. The shop may be asking for good reason.

Elbow,

How right you are. I had a white '04 Heritage longbed and my gf at the time offered me the Westin steps off her brother's wrecked '03 straight cab shortbed as payment for watching their house while on vacation. Once my friend and I went to out them on, the bolt holes in my frame did not match up with the ones on the bars. P'd me off at the time but sold them for money to add things that DID work

I think he realized it won't work as the OP never posted back in the thread, at least hopefully he did before he shelled out the cash for that "shop" to try.
