hey here is an up date....according to the over head console, ( variation for error ) truck is averaging 17.6 mpg with city/highway driving, less, than 000 500 Km on the truck not bad...or any worse than Ford....
2500 reg cab 4x4 5.7 six speed 373 ltd slip...
Now what I don't like, front fenders, where they bolt to the cab, theirs a foam insert running down the fender, when you open up the door, you see this, fit and finish is not so good ( built in Mexico ) Ford has the better frame and body construction, surprises me to admit this....
To get into a bigger cab, I sacrificed build quality with the dodge, but the dodge hands down has more driver comfort for my self, ( reg cab ) the six sp manual is hard to get used to because dodge has a goofy shift pattern ( reverse is down and to the left ) and it's basically a five speed + a extra low gear, I'm getting used to it now....
I don't regret going to dodge, But I'm the first to admit the build quality is sub par, worse than Ford...
THe 5.7 is dynamite, awesome, incredible engine and for a 3/4 ton, the ride and handeling are awesome, not as good as the car like F-150, but still ok...
I will never ever again buy a Ford product, I'm not saying their all bad, just the ones I owned were nothing but headaches, I don't pretend that dodge is the magic cure, But I really like this truck more than any Ford F-150 I have owned in the past....
I'm not going to win drag races, First impressions with the hemi were that was quicker than the 04 F-150, but once the blinders ere off and reality set in, the 04 F-150 was a lot quicker, the hemi in the 2500 takes a longer to get threw the gears ( my driving ) but thiers way more power with the 5.7 to work with..
