$$$

Bus,

I'd say you're looking at at least $800. And here's why.

Gears $200
L/S $350-400 Either Powertrax or Eaton
Labor $200 Minimum

It's expensive but definately worth it. I did it on my old 83 Bronco and it really woke it up. It was about $750 an axle. I did 4.10's as I had 33 inch tires and a 4 inch lift.

If you're thinking of swapping out I'd at least go 3.73 with a locker. I didn't see what type of engine you have, but if it's an 8 I'd definately do the 3.73's. I have the 3.55 L/S on mine and think the 3.73's would be a better choice, but I'm not touching them unless something goes wrong.

You can probably find a used rear axle at a junkyard w/ the gear ratio that you want -- it shouldnt be that hard to find or that expensive. Then you can just switch axles.
