Hey Dcovell...I just bought my 4.10's today from Direct Drivetrain. The have a deal right now where you get 2 sets of 4.10's with complete overhaul kit (including bearings) for $479. That is a hell of a deal from what I have seen.

4.10s

B man,
Man the truck runs killer now. I can idle up any hill now in overdrive. And beleive it or now my gas milage improved! More power and better fuel mileage, could not ask for anything better. 4.10's turn about 30 more rpm than 3.55's. 0-60 times are down 2 sec.

Cool

ncracing6x -

Would you mind telling me what brand you bought, where from, price, etc.

Are you happy with the quality, quiet, etc. ?

Also, how hard was the install ? Any unexpected surprises ?? Special tools, etc. ?

TIA !!

4.10

B-man,
i am real happy with the gears. I bought all orginal Ford motorcraft parts and they are quite. A buddy of mine put it in for me and we had no problems at all. It really does not take any special tools just a little knowledge. Couple of hints-you do not need to buy the installation kit people try to sell you for $100. If you buy the Ford brand you get all that you need. Most say you need to raplace bearings but that is crap. Those bearings are ment to last a lifetime so if nothing is wrong if them dont replace them. Make sure to put Ford gear oil in and the special addivitive. The oil is pricey at $18 a quart . Performance is awesome! 0-60 times drooped a 1.5 sec.

ncracing6x - what year/engine combo do you have? I am thinking about a 4.10 swap, but would need to get my chip re-burned to get the speedometer to read correctly.
