Noise in Steering Wheel . . .

Good morning everyone,

When my truck is cold (I've only ever noticed the noise when it is cold), turning the steering wheel will result in a rubbing or squeaking noise . . . it only occurs when the wheel reaches a particular point in its rotation. I had the Pitman Arm replaced on warranty years back and this is definitely not the same sound that was. This noise I can actually "feel" in the steering wheel/steering column.

I also have to get my steering shaft replaced (thanks for your earlier help on that one). Is it possible that this noise would be related to that?

With the crashing and noises coming from my front end everytime I hit a bump, I think our potholed roads are getting the worst of me and my steering/front end components From what I understand the steering shaft plays a large role in thoise noises but I'm not sure if the steering wheel thing is realted.

Thanks for your help!
