Strange Rattle

Hmm, not really sure where to post this one, but I'll try here first. Anyway, I've got the 5-speed transmission and I've noticed that since the weather has gotten warmer and my windows are down, I can hear this little annoying rattle noise. I'm not sure how to describe it, but my best attempt is that it sounds like that noise you get when you try accellerate in too high of a gear. It is kind of like a metal pinging sound, maybe like small metal bearings in an empty aluminum can being pinged back and forth. It is very minor and only happens during accelleration, in either 1st or 2nd. Any thoughts on what this could be?

Could your engine be pinging?

I too had the 'marbles in a can' sound. Tried a lot of stuff to get rid of it. It's somewhere in the engine. What fixed mine was:
Installed a U$80 CCCFIPK kit from Ebay.
Cleaned the MAF with brakekleen.
Reset the computer.

Rattle is 99% gone now.

97,

Do you have the manual SOTF T-case? If you do, try holding the T-case shifter while accelerating. If that is not it then check the oil level in the tranny and T-case.
