Front end noise

When making a sharp left turn at slow speed (at the drive thru for Dunkin Donuts) I have on occasion heard a rapid clunking noise occur from my front end. Not experiencing any issues from it but was wondering if anyone might have an explanation. It is a 2003 4X4 Super Crew.

How big are your tires?

Are your tires rubbing against the inner fenders?

Will look to see if rubbing occurs, but they are stock tires and did not think this would happen.

It could be the clutches in the Traction-Lok in the rear, the 03 Expeditions have a TSB on this concern. I know you said front, if it is the clutches, it will sound like it is coming from the front but its the rear. Does it sound like 4x4 on dry pavement turning? If so, its the Traction -Lok clutches, YES its covered.

Best I can tell is that the sound was coming from the rear after all. Nothing wrong with the truck though, it seems that the rear tire was snugging up against the curve during the tight turn. I guess it explains why I couldn't duplicate the problem in the parking lots.

Thanks for the input though.
