Acceleration Click

I have noticed lately that my truck makes a "click" sound sometimes when I push the accelerator. It does not do it all the time, and it seems like it does it more when I am travelling between 35 and 45 MPH. It sounds like it is coming from the floor or lower dash area which makes me think that it is the transmission or somewhere in the back of the engine.

It will only do it once when I initially push down on the accelerator, if I release the accelerator and push it right back down, it will not do it, I usually have to keep my foot off the pedal for at least 5 seconds before hearing it again.

Another thing that I noticed about the "click" noise is that if I put my hand on the manual 4x4 shift lever, I can actually feel the "click" in the lever.

The noise is not that loud and I have to have all the windows up, and the radio turned down to hear it, (no, I do not want to just turn up the radio so that I won't hear it anymore ).

Any ideas?
