Locker?

Sorry for the stupid question, but i mean hey.. everyone's got to start somewhere, right? So is a locker the part that acctually makes the two tires spin together? I've heard for every diffrential only one of the wheels is acctually spinning. And how do lockers acctually help with traction? I need some better traction from my truck and i'm trying to figure out what i need to accomplish this, Thanks very much for your knowledge.

It's not stupid. You should first understand how a variety of differentials work.

These trucks come with an open or a limited slip differential. Limited slips with clutches or cones are simple replacements. The Torsen is a highly regarded product, but doesn't fit all applications. Lockers are generally used for serious off-road performance and are popular in 9" racing applications. There is also a spool that mechanically splines both axles together which is used primarily for straight line racing.
