Post Windshield Wipers

I didn't see a category to put this under, so I'm sticking it here. I was just going to ignore this problem, but it happened again (2nd time) tonight. Has anyone else had the windshield wipers spontaneously wipe a single time, then stop? I wasn't going over rough roads or anything. Simply backing out of a parking space.

sounds like the infamous Ford bad wiper switch to me, my 98 did that a couple of times and then the windsheild washer pump stopped working. The switch was the problem.

Thanks. Almost time for my 15,000 mile service, so I'll mention that to them.

It hasn't happened on the F-150, but it did on my 93 Aerostar....when I took it in, the service advisor seemed shocked that the van had gone 30k before it happened..That was the only trouble I had with the Aerostar. Seems to me Ford could do a little refining on the "multi-switch"...

Red face

It just happened to me last week, I thought I just flipped the turn signal stalk to hard. Then it happened again yesterday... can't complain it will be my first trip to the dealer for my 99 with 7500 miles.

Cool

The mysterious "phantom wipe" is a problem for most fords with intermittent wipers (delay). I work for a Mazda dealer and the new B-series/Rangers have the same problem.

I only have the problem at the slowest intermittent speed it will go one time and stop till I move it up to a faster speed.
