That depends.
It does take special equipment, but if you did something like changing the rear end to a lower, but stock, ratio then you can have a Ford dealer do it and just pay the labor.
If you throw in a non-stock tire size and/or non-stock rear end ratios then you must purchase an aftermarket tuner/programmer to recalibrate your speedometer. Unless you have a "good" friend who has the exact same truck as you and already layed out the dough for a tuner/programmer and, well like I said, is a real good friend.
