tranfer case fluid

tranfer case fluid

i check my today and when i took off the cap fluid came out so i put it back on right away.it look like transmission fluid is that right and how do i make sure there is enough in it.

The fluid in the transfer case is mercon trans. fluid. The proper level should be even or just below the filler plug. If it seems to be over filled, you might check the transmission fluid level. If its low, there is a possibility the imput shaft seal in the transfer case is bad, causing trans. fluid to enter the transfer case.

Everything you observed sounds normal. It's full and the exact angle now vs when it was filled is different.
