Ford dealer burst my bubble
I had big plans to change my reargears this spring from 3.31 to 4.10 I have a 95 F150 5.0L E4OD transmission. I wanted to get a little more umph for trailer towing. Last fall I checked the price in the ford performance book for 4.10s $295. On the weekend I go into the dealer with my serial #s to order the right gear set. Thay tell me that a 3.55 is the lowest set available for my rear end. I believe it is a 8.8". I have looked on randys ring and pinion site and they show a 4.10 can anyone suggest other aftermarket suppliers if possable canadian suppliers so I dont have to deal with currency exchange or customs. Appriciate any help!
I dont think its worth changing to 3.55's am I wrong ?

Probably the deepest gearset you can go to on your stage carrier. As I recall the split was between 3.55 and 3.73. You can run 4.10s, you just need to order a new carrier thats made for 3.73 and deeper gears. Most Ford parts jockeys aren't bright enough to realize this. My advice would be to call Randys and tell them what you're trying to do and they can set you up with the carrier and all the bearings and install kits. You can then either buy the gears from them or get them from Ford.
