differential service interval

differential service interval

My local garage suggests that I get the differential lubricant changed or have it serviced. Does that sound right? I have noticed a slight klunk once in a while lately. I have a 1997 F-150 with 58,000 miles on it

The shop that did my gears recommended 30k intervals. Thtat's probably what I'll shoot for in the future.

Synthetic lube has a long service life. My personal choice would be to change even the best lubes out between 50-60K and the conventional lubes out at 1/2 of that.

Does the synthetic help free up thr rear end, because i put the full synthetic in the motor and it feels alot more free when you put the gas to it .
