Gear ratio

When I bought my truck it didn't come with a whole lot og information as to what was in it or any specs. Is there a place I can get that information, especially my current gear ratio?? Can anyone decipher the numbers I found on the rear axle??

it's a 9.75" but where it says "3m22", I would have expected to see a 55 or something to indicate it as being 3.55 or a 73 to indicate a 3.73....

Look on your door jamb sticker under "Axle" and there will be a code. If it's H9 or 19 then it's a 3.55 (the first character tells if it's a limited slip or not, H yes, 1 no). If it's B6 or 26 then it's the 3.73 and same deal for LS.....

9 75 = 9.75 (Nine and three quarters)

L= limited Slip
53=55 = 3.55:1 Ratio

I think you may have misread the '5' for a '3'

It looks as though it's missing a numeral, left of the "L" on the second line (the first character of line 2). Typically, it starts off something like this "3L55".

Sal you were right on the misread. Cleaned the dirt off the back and it was an L55.

Thanks.
