Front End Hum

Front End Hum
1999 F-150, 2wd, 103K miles. I've had the truck since 82K, and it has recently started to make a humming sound from the front end. It starts quietly at about 27 mph, and doesn't stop til about 40, where it stops or the road noise gets louder than the hum. It is loudest at about 30 - 35 mph. It seems as if the truck is pulling to the left a little bit, but that could have been the wind pushing it. Any ideas to what this could be? Thanks....

My 2002 is currently in the shop for the same noise. The hum is not loud, but annoying none-the-less. I noticed, too, sometimes it worse than others, and it seems to be independent of load, temperature, etc.
I did notice when in a curve, the hum will decrease or increase depending on the direction of the curve. Got a call from the dealer yesterday, and they are changing the wheel-bearings. I will be soooo happy to get rid of that NOISE. UGH!

I've kinda got the same problem on my 2000. It started with feeling a little rolling resistance, kind of like I was driving with the parking brake partially on or like I was driving into a headwind. Mine also started to squeal a little. I couldn't tell which side the noise was coming from so I was waiting for it to get worse and maybe then I would be able to tell, but now the noise has gone away (still got the resistance though). I think I'll just go ahead and replace both of them on the front and be done with it.
