A limited slip will not afford the same traction as a locker. When in 4x2 mode it is a mute point so the only other consideration is when driving on slippery roads with 4x4 engauged. Normally a limited slip will allow the clutches to slip when rounding a corner. Depending on the design a Locker will click when disengauging to allow the wheel on the outside to travel farther than the inside one. This clicking could be transmitted back through the steering wheel giving the impression that something is broken. If I could afford it I would get a selectable locker. One more thing, the locker or LSD may cause the front driveshaft to turn all the time. If it does, milage may suffer becasue the drive shaft is turning and it will also turn the chain in the transfer case. That will also create more noise.

If you go with the Detroit Tru-Trac limited slip in the front you won't have the problem of the driveshaft turning even in 2wd. The tru-trac is a gear driven limited slip instead of a clutch drived type. Since you have a CAD (center axle disconnect) you want the tru-trac. Even the selectable lockers, (air locker, e-locker, etc.) run as a clutch drived limited slip when not engaged. Hope this helps.

Check the ARB site for the closest dealer to you. I did quick search and http://www.rocky-road.com has them for $689.00 + shipping. You will also need a compressor $218.00. Not cheap by any means but very effective off road.

works great for toying around. they lock right up in the front and pull you around where you point like its a real locker, they DO make road noise and a bit of banging around when it ratchets and re-locks.
ALSO from personal experience with my 97 F150 8.8 / 8.8IFS: when you get the PTX unit for the 8.8 reverse, check to see if theres a clip, looks like a paper clip thickness square shaped spring clip. if it is not supplied i would call up the manufacturer and ask if they can send you one. at this point you will learn they have.. ahem.. "issues" regarding the 8.8 IFS unit, they swear up and down they dont make it (but youve got the damn box in your hand that says otherwise)
it may not be necessary for you, but it was for me. i had no clue how i was going to secure the shaft in place with the stock hardware c'clip because it just plain didnt clear anything internally.
just my personal experience with this setup. still a good cheap alternative
