Looking for a differential shop...

Does anybody know of a good shop in southern california that can change my differential gears for not a lot of $$$?
I want to go from 3.73 to 4.56 on my '02 F150 since I installed a fabtech liftkit and 315/75 R16 tires. My truck is too slugish.

Help appreciated...

I got my gears installed in my 2wd with Ford Racing gears for $600 OTD. Next closest price quote was $750, and EVERY other quote was $1,200+.

I used Performance Transmissions. *IF* you call ask for Chuck and tell him that Mark with the lowered new white f150 sent you. He hooks up, and is a great guy.

I WILL give you aheads up though. I do have a slight whine in my gears around 40-50MPH, and he said it was the gears...not the install. So not sure if it was his fault or not

diffworks in corona, ca is the BEST place to go. (diffworks.net)

they did me and at least five other of my close friends. good service, done fast, and great people.

SKG motorsports in san diego is great too (skgmotorsports.com). call and ask for jason or elex; tell them you saw a post by ken with the greasy balljoints

They tried ti fix it 3 times... they even swapped different gears, but they made noise too.

do you think if I took it to Ford and made a warranty claim for the hum that they would be able to tell? I did have a leak in my diff case after the gear install and the dealer fixed it...so they have a record of them working on the diff.

I just wonder if they would be able to tell they aren't stock gears if they looked inside lol.

They would take the number off the tag and put original gears back in not knowing they were different

you should never be able to gear whine at any speed this is due to poor installation not shimed properly most likey to much shim however only way to tell is to phyiscaly use a gear marking compound and see where the gears are contacting dont mean to ruin your day
