98 Expy can't get axle c-clip out

I got the left rear axle out, but the right rear axle won't go in far enough to remove the c-clip. You can feel it bottom out when you push it in, but there's not enough of a gap to remove the clip. It's a limited slip. Do I have to compress the clutch pack somehow? and if so, is there a special tool?

The wheel studs on the axle flange are hitting the parking brake anchor. Turn the axle a little further so the studs clear the parking brake anchor, the clips should fall right out.

Thank you, worked like a charm. I feel like a tool that I couldn't figure that out on my own. I was laying under the truck keeping the clip from falling and was reaching around the axle with my other hand pushing the axle in. I never saw it.
Thanks again.

Don't mention it. It took me a few times to realize the same, and I do this stuff for a living...:o
