Question Detroit EZ Locker for '97 Open F-150

I'm looking for any experience with the Detroit EZ Locker. It is not a 'limited' slip and I'm not 100% sure I understand the Detroit definition difference... lots of D's here.

So I'm open now, and been doing some camping in remote areas. Several times the roads are rough and I could've used a good 'differential' lockup to help.
The Detroit EZ Locker is supposed to be a 'drop in' using all the 8.8 set (I don't think I'd do the install anyway, old) and Detroit has a good name.

This seems like a really "positive/complete" limited slip (overly aggressive?)...

Any thoughts on how this might work (3.73 rear end, slightly 2.65/75s XLT Mich)
Thanks.

i run the richmond gear powertraxx lock right. same concept. works great if ya ask me. it is a little aggressive, you will spin your inside tire when cornering around town. actually i should say slip, especially on gravel.

off the road, it tends to get you further in 2wd than you normally would.

Thanks, I'll look into it. I don't want a too aggressive setup as I do mostly street or highway driving. Just need the added boost in the back roads. Thanks.

you should be fine. my 35"s if i nail it will make my lockright ratchet, if i half heartedly use the throttle during a turn i can feel it slip the tire a little. now if your really easy on it you dont feel it slipping.

so your situation its probably a decent low price mod for you.

Thumbs up

Thanks. That is exactly what I'm looking for and at about $290 or so for the Detroit EZ it seems low cost enough.
