4x4 Issue

I have a manual 4wd shifter on the floor. I have a little problem. When I go to shift into 4HI its fine evreything works. When I go to put it back into 2wd it goes into 2wd drive but the dash light still says 4wd. What is wrong?

The switch for the light is probably just sticking. I'm not sure which model of t-case your truck uses, and I don't think it IS this one, but it's gonna be VERY similar to this.

anybody else know what switch it would be? And could give me the name of the part or motocraft part number?

The base PN should be the same as that one: 7E440 . The parts guy at the dealership will have to look up the full PN anyway because Ford updates PNs so often.
