Unhappy 2wd/4wd Popping Noise

I have a 2001 4x4 Screw with a 4" Superlift on it. Here is the problem. Well I just had the 4x4 worked on at the dealership (big mistake, it took FOREVER). They had to replace my front drive shaft and aluminum axle housing thing, b/c it was cracked.

Ok well now 1 1/2 weeks later when I am in 2wd and say stopped at a light. when i let off the brake to start giving it gas, I hear two "pops" coming from the front end. I did use allot of 4wd this weekend, and it almost feels like it never completely disengaged the 4wd. It also does the "popping" or grinding when i am going around a corner. Like it is trying to go into 4wd. I know that the front wheels are not driving though, b/c I can spin the rear on gravel. OK so does anyone have any advice????
Thanks

I know this is very basic, but have you tried backing up in a straight line for @ 50 feet w/o turning the wheels? Some times doing that is enough to have it disingauge. You mention doing a lot of 4wheeling, try removing tire and spraying warm water to see is anything breaks free. I used to tear it apart every year because of the amount of mudding I used to do.
