New gears and locker

if you have a 4x4 you cant just regear the rear, if you did the front would be spinning faster than the rear and would cause alot of problems, you must do front and rear unless you plan on removing your front drive shaft.
i recomend 4.56 or 4.88 for alittle more low end grunt. as far as a locker it really depends on what rear you have 8.8 or 9.75 but if you want a really strong locker get a detroit locker, or less hardcore get a trutrack LS dade by the same company, if you want selectable get a ARB, good luck i could really narrow down the search if i knew alittle more about what you plan to do with the truck IE tow offroad mostly on the street, also what engine. good luck

thanks for the help...the truck is an 04 5.4 triton fx4....i drive mostly on the street and highway....i use the truck offroad sometimes not too often like like every weekend....i dont think i wanna go as low as 4.56 what about 4.10's???? ive hear the 4.56 are very short especially wit an auto tranny...thanx

I run 4.10s with 31.5" street tires. There's a few posts, all postive, about this setup. Here's my RPM at various speeds.

As you can see, my rpm aren't high at all. Your rpm will be a lot lower - so you'll have less power - if you run 4.10s with 35s IMHO.
I'd do a search, look at what others post, then make a decision. But I think the most positive posts you'll find are the ones where guys put lower gears in.
