Sounds like tire hum......
2002 F150 4x4 supercab, 69,xxx miles. I have developed a hum from what seems to be the front wheels. Sounds like a tire hum, but it's not. Sounds more prominant at lower speeds, especially when slowing to a stop from about 40mph to 0. The only "newer" parts on the front are rotors, left caliper, pads, and the left hub assembly w/ABS sensor. The hub is from AdvanceAuto (Chinese), about 4k miles ago.
Could I have damaged the half shaft when changing the hub? It slid out of the old hub fine, but the hub wouldn't come off. So I put a puller on it, centered on the shaft with the arms on the hub. It finally came with a lot of PB blaster, hit and spin on the hub.
Or is it the cheap Chinese hub. $157, NAPA wanted $425!!! Or something else?
