Question Driveline loss?

Is the driveline loss different for certain year trucks than others, like a 97 compared to a newer model? Does it just depend on if it is a 5 speed manual or a automatic truck? How much more loss comes from a 4x4 than the 2 wheel drive truck? Are there too many factors to be determined to get it close without having the motor on a dyno, then installed in the truck and run on a chassis dyno? I am having a motor built for my truck, and would like to have some idea of how much power the motor is actually making before it gets to the rear wheels of the truck. Any help will be appreciated.
