rearend swap. 8.8 to dana 60

ok i have a 93 f150 with the e4od 4x2 which i did a 4x4 swap in, it has the lil abs milarchy in the rear end. my question is is there a way to get the speedo to work off of the hookup on my 1988 bw 1356 tcase. cause there is an elctrical plugin on the speedo, or is there a way to switch to the cable driven one? the 92 f150 4x4 had a gear driven speedo which is why i ask.

The PSOM won't work off the VSS (on the t-case) because the signal it produces isn't a high enough frequency. Read this thread.

But you can find a D60 with an ABS sensor that will work fine. At most, you'd have to recalibrate the PSOM (as described in that thread) if the new axle has a 120-tooth tone ring. Click my signature link & look in the 8.8" Axle album for info on the original.

I think several users on FSB have done this already, so do some searching there & I'm sure you'll find what you need. A Sterling 10.25"/10.5" would be a better choice, though. Much stronger & more common.

I know this isn't your question bu you did a swap from 4x2 to 4x4? What was involved in the front end? Did you use a parts truck?

Thanks

ok i found a nifty place that currie enterprises sent me to and they make a tone ring that goes on the pinion and all u have to do is relocate the sensor. and ive seen it work perfectly on a ford 9.

as for your 4x4 question, i just pulled the front end outta my 88 bronco and it was a direct bold in swap. all i needed to find was a drive shaft. but i might add that i swapped the e4od for a 4x4 aod. but i burned up the aod so its 4x2 again. but im only a week from getting the 4x4 e4od. u'll need the cross member outta the donor and also the front drive shaft and rear if there the same model( bed and cab lenghts) the rear drive shaft also. 4x4 u joints are of a bigger size also. but 4x2 bearing cups fit 4x4 crosses perfectly

thank you for ur help. and if u have any questions on the swap email me
