Well not sure sure what size rearend I have, and some links to places that sell the gears would be awesome. Another thing is what kind of places would do the gears? Mechanics or the lift shop, not really sure, all new to me.

yes most regular shops can do the gear install, but call around before you buy gears b.c some shops will only do an install for gears they sell you...

And i believe the 4.6 has 8.8" and the 5.4 has the bigger one, forgot the size, maybe a 9.5? idk....

Do you know what gears you have right now, and if you have a LS? B.c i would highly recommend putting in a LS if you dont have one, while you have everything torn apart

Limited Slip, its where when one wheel is slipping, the power is diverted to the other side, and under normal operation should be equal power distributed to both sides

Open Differential, is where when one wheel is slipping, the differential puts all the power to the side that doesnt have any traction. Under normal operation power should be equally distributed. This is the cheaper of the two options. And is where you see the trucks and cars that can only do a burn out with one wheel....

Many transmissions shops will do ring and pinions, but I would rather have a 4x4 shop do the work.
