loose driveshaft?
Just crawling around under my truck yesterday, I noticed that the driveshaft, from what I would consider at it's earliest point from the trans, is loose. It moves about 1/8" in all directions. Is this normal? The only problem I have that may have something to do with this is when I accelerate from speeds of 5-10mph I hear a loud click. Any ideas?

I'm betting on your u-joints.Might as well replace both.Mark the relationship of everything before you pull it apart to avoid vibration. If you have a good vise will help alot.Sometimes they are a pain to get out.

I don't have a pic.The u-joints are the parts that connect the driveshaft where it splits.Like right after the where the driveshaft connects to the rear end there is a u-joint that connects the pieces up farther about a foot back from the transfer case is another one.
I am starting a job at heating and air conditioning place.I was sub-contracting through a big company doing construction but to make a long story short i couldn't put up with the place anylonger and sick of doing construction.
The heating job is kinda temp until i get the job i want (lineman for power company)

damn hopefully something comes up for you soon. I'm in the same boat. My job's always up and down, but it's been down all year. There are thousands of excuses why business is slow everywhere, but if there's nothing we can do, none of those excuses matter. There are a lot of jobs out there, and I know we'll all be alright in the end.
