what should i do???
i was looking to make my 2002 4.2L quicker and i was told i should just regear it and that would solve my problems. for now i am riding on stock wheels and tires but in the future i plan on lifiting my rig with 35" tires. are the new gears worth my time and effort? and if so any recomendations for gears i should be using?

Well it's a tough call. With a 4.2 and 35s you should definitely be running 4.56s, IMO. The problem is that 4.56s are way too steep for the stock (I think) 31s. Your best bet would be to wait until you get the lift, and then regear at the same time you get the tires.
Oh, and 4.56s with 35s will put your truck almost right back at stock, so your truck won't be any quicker. It'll just be a whole lot quicker than if you were to go to 35s without regearing.
