Smile changing rear end???

I have a 90 F150, 5.0 automatic 2 wheel drive, do not think it is a posi. Anyway I took a rear end out of a 79 Lincoln Mark 7 that has a posi with 3.27 gears. I am not sure what the gear ratio of the 90 is, do you have an idea? Could I swap these two rear ends. What size is the 90, I think the 79 is an 8.8. It also had a 4 link hookup. Could the guts be changed out or would it take a whole housing change, which would give me rear disc brakes. Thanks for any info.

What's the AXLE code on the door sticker on the truck? Has the truck (axle) been modified in any way? Even larger tires?

You can't put the whole car axle in. The lug pattern isn't the same. Does the car axle still have the tag on it? Click the black Bronco in my sig & look in the 8.8" Axle album.
