Basic Q's about Air Intake

I run a 5.0L 1996 f150 with true duels...

I read a post saying that the Volant blank blank has a nice sound...does that mean the sound in the engine, or the exhaust sound??? Maybe a really stupid Q.

Then, to me using common sense, a cold air intake is healthier for the engine, or just better to cool the air for the engine to run off of...is that true? What are the +/- of cold air intakes...? I found some for under $100, will they most likely be trash?? Any intake info helpful!!

Ideal for me would be a cold air intake that sounds good. But what I really need, is a good cold air intake that's compatible with my engine. And these things are pretty easy to install is take it? Thanks everyone!

Ford puts a cold-air-intake on ALL its vehicles at the factory. Most of the kits marketed as "CAI" are actually HOT-air-intakes because they pull air from under the hood.
