Nope
Your truck with the 5.4 should have the 9.75" rear end. These are 8.8" gears. Additionally this does not say what the gear ratio is that is being sold. What rear end ratio do you have now? Did you know that you need to repplace the front and rear gears at the same time on 4x4? This could cost you upwards of a $1000. It is not a job to be done by a novice mechanic. If your tolerances are off you will lose the rear end.

Funny!

Well then malexander52's post is correct. Those gears will not work. Only the 4.6L trucks come with 8.8's. Now if you have a 4x4 then you have an 8.8 in the front but it is different. They have what are called reverse gears in the front. You may want to check this out and kind of get an idea at what you are looking at. Just so you know you can not go any lower than 4.56 without having to change the front end. They will not accept anything lower. I would definitely look more into exactly what type of rear end you have.

Then something has changed since I had my gears done because back then I was told nothing lower than 4.56's could be put into that front end. And this was by a Ford mechanic that did my work for me at his home. Would you happen to have a link for where you saw 4.88's for the front 8.8 ifs?
