'92 Front Axle Swap Questions

I'm not a fan of the independent front suspension on my '92, 5.0, 5spd manual, and I've heard the front axle can be replaced with one from a '76-'79 F-150. Has anyone had any experience with this? Also, will I have to re-gear? Thanks.

Go to the SAS forum on FSB. There are plenty of old threads there discussing every aspect of that swap.
