What make of gears are good?
Hello all,
I have decided to regear my truck. (97 5.4L 9.75LS) I've done the normal stuff. K&N, Cat-Back, Superchips and a few others. It came with 235/70-16's (29" tall) and now I have L-wheels with 285/60-18's (31-1/2"). Stock gear is 3.55. I been looking at Motive and Yukon gear sets. 4.10 from ether and 4.30 from Motive.
Have any of you guys had problems with these manufactures?
What are you using with a similar combo?
Anybody using 4.30's?
Thanks for any input. Norm

Gears
I had 4.10 Motive Gears installed front and rear in my 98 with 5.4 and 9.75 rear axle. Had the gears installed by a Ford Tech. Couldn't be happier. Really woke the truck up and no noise. If you decide to change the gears, you will need a spacer for the rear axle. All gear manufacturers use the new style gear, which fits mid 99 and newer axle housings. If you check my previous posts you will find the part number from Ford. Less than 10 bucks and allows you to use any aftermarket gear set.
