This question is regarding the ORP. According to Fords website the 2000 f150 with the ORP come with the skidplates. Upon inspection of my rig, mine has none. Were the skidplates an additional option or did I buy a truck previously owned by a dimwit? Also, it has the prewired trailer socket, but no hitch? Again according to Ford the towing package should have both. I am confused. Any help would be appreciated. I am a converted Chevy man and Chevrolet puts a sticker inside the glove box with option codes to tell what exactly a rig had from the factory. Does Ford have something similar?

The skid plates are in the following locations (That I know of)
1. In front under the bumber
2. Transfer case
3. Gas Tank

If you do not have these, have ford check the VIN #. Because you can buy the off road sticker. So you may have a regular 4x4.
Other thing that come with the ORP:
1. P265/70R17SL OWL All-Terrain Tires
2. LT265/70R17 OWL All-Terrain Tires
3. 4x4 Off-Road Decal
4. Heavy Duty Shock Absorbers
5. Skid Plates (Transfer Case and Fuel Tank)(4x4)
6. 17" 5-Lug Cast Aluminum Wheels with Chrome Hubs

As far as the tow package, mine has the trailer socket and no hitch. The bumper can be used. Again check the VIN # with the dealer.
