what type of limtied slip differential in the 09 F150 FX4???

clutch-cone or gear driven limited slip in the F150 FX4???
who makes the limited slip for Ford???

if clutch type unit then is it the traction lock diff or differnet name these days???

the only cone type i know of is the Auburn...

gear driven the True Track comes to mind but i assume this would be to good to be true...

not a fan of the clutch type units, unless it is like the old Spicer-Dana Power Lock diffs...

thanks...

If you have the FX4, you do not have a limited slip, you have a locker.

As stated in the owners manual, while in 4x4, and below 25 mph, you pull out on the ESOF switch. That locks the rear. Go over 25, move to 2wd, or push the switch in unlocks it.

ESOF is electronic shift on the fly (a rotary dial), as compared to MSOF, manual shift on the fly (a stick). ESOF if you do not have a stick 4x4 shifter would be on the dash between the steering column and the radio/heater/cooling controls.

Only the 09 up FX4s have the locker. At best you have a limited slip rear on your 04.
