Vent hose possible missing on F150???

I have a 1997 ford F150 with the 4.6L V8 4x4.I noticed rear end fluid on the ground today and upon inspection noticed it was from the breather on the rear end itself(were the break line is). There was no hose on the breather, but there was a piece of what I'm presuming to be the old hose over the barb of the breather. The hose is no where to be found. It is also pretty dirty. Would this cause it to leak there and would a local parts store just have the breather hose "assembly"?

I would replace the hose, and replace the fluid. No telling what might have gotten in there, especially if you went through any water.

Yea that brake line/ breather block broke on mine. I had to replace the block because the breather barb snapped off. If your barb is still there it's an easy fix, -just replace the hose/change fluid as kingfish posted.

If you need the block, that's a dealership/salvage yard part only.
