would 35's and 3.55 kill the tranny?
i want to do a 6 inch lift and run 35's. eventually i will regear but if i ran 35's on my stock 3.55 gears for a few months would that put to much strain on the transmission? i dont tow, but i do have a very heavy foot and i haul mulch and firewood a few times a year.

stealthsniper, i have a 05 fx4 with 355 l/s gears a 6" lift and 35" tires and tow a 7500 lb trailer no problem, i have made towing adjustments ie; equal-i-zer weight distribution/anti sway hitch and added superspring add a leafs and edge evolution controller. my trans stays within proper range and i keep it off overdrive while towing. mpg isnt great but power and performance is fine. our trannies are tough, the local tranny shop owner has one and he tows as well no problem, i do use a trans additive but regular trans fluid only, no royal purple or any expensive stuff. hope this helps. is it ideal? no but you dance with who ya brung(unless you have a spare) if you arent towing its a breeze.
