4x4 newbie question

I just bought an 07 FX4 Screw. It is my first truck with 4WD & I have a question I was hoping to get some help with.

I had the truck out in the snowy roads yesterday, driving in 4Hi with no problems. But when I stopped at a store & tried to pull into a very tight parking spot, it seemed like the truck was skipping or the tires were dis-engaging. I had to put the truck back into 2Hi to get into the spot. Is this normal or is their something wrong with my 4WD?

The spot I was pulling into was very tight, had to cut the wheel all the way to the left & I was going very slow. Not sure if any of that makes a difference though.

The truck is still covered under the 3 year/36k warranty so if something is wrong I want to get it taken care of quickly.

Thanks for any input.

thats the way a 4x4 is. when in 4hi or low there will be a binding between your front and rear wheels when you try to turn if they cant slip. completely normal nothing to worry about.

What you should be doing in those situations where you need to make tight turns and with dry or just wet pavement is take it out of 4wd so you don't damage anything.
