Gear Swap/ Rear End Questions

Hey guys- So I just added a set a 265/75r16 Nitto Terra Grapplers to my 04 Heritage, 4.6 4x4 with 3.55 LS. Having the taller tires with those 3.55s is outrageous. I knew it would affect it, but I didn't expect this much. I want to swap to 4.10s, but I am wondering is it worth the money to swap to a 9.75? I know which 31 spline axles and a good diff the 8.8 is still a pretty stout rear end. Also, as long as I either take the front driveshaft out or disable 4x4, is there any problem with me just swapping the rear gears now and doing the fronts later?

no need to swap to a 9.75 unless you are wanting to get extreme.

removing the front driveshaft will allow you to run with different gearing between the front and back.

You having powerloss with 265's

Honestly if you ever plan on going bigger it would be a waste to swap gears now. And I'm running 4.56 in my 8.8 with 35"s just fine. No need for the 9.75.

Hell my sister is running those tires on a stock v6 now just fine and I ran 285/75/16 with my 3.08 and v6 manual and even 315/75/16 for a while before the swap. Just saying.

I am not really planning on going with bigger tires, maybe eventually a 285/75. I think the 4.10s would be good for both. But my complaint about the performance is coming after intake, exhaust, and a gryphon tuner. I loved the extra power. But since I put these tires on, its slower than it was stock.
